A premium quality, traditional style walking shoe with a single-piece full-grain leather upper, waterproof and breathable membrane lining, and a fully replaceable sole unit.
We have for many years now had Altberg boot owners asking after a shoe for less demanding conditions, travel, and even day-to-day use, and we are delighted to now offer the Jorvik Trail. It may not come in the same range of width fittings as the classic Tethera and Fremington walking boot models, but the A-Forme last on which it's S-Fit last is based is very universal, with an average-to-wide fit across the ball of the foot, but with a nice snug heel and midfoot for security on rough ground. The upper is made from a single piece of soft, supple, full-grain leather, providing excellent durability and weather-resistance, and also meaning that it will be very straight forward - like Altberg's boots - for us to modify and stretch if required. While most walking shoes we see use an injection moulded sole construction, the Jorvik Trail is made in the same way as Altberg's boots, being built around a protective lasting board, with a cemented (and therefore replaceable) outsole.
Features include:
- Single piece, 1.8mm Nida Hydro soft and supple full-grain leather upper.
- Military grade, waterproof and breathable Sympertex lining.
- Tri-Flex 1 lasting board for underfoot support and protection on rocky ground.
- Microrubber cushioned midsole.
- Vibram Masi outsole.
- Resoleable.
Weight: 599g
Fit: The SFit last is similar to Altberg's single-width option AForme last, but lower volume for use with thinner walking socks.
